Humble Beginnings...

What to expect at Appo Happo:

Thanks for checking out the new Appomattox Happenings website! This is absolutely humble beginnings, and while there may not be much on the site now, stay tuned. It’s only going to get better with time!

I’m Teresa Davis, and I’ve been running the Appomattox Happenings Facebook group since 2018. I love getting the word out about community events to those who live here.

Over the years, I’ve had several people reach out to me with questions like “where could I find such-&-such service in Appomattox?” “Is there anyone who does xyz?” or "Do you know anyone who sells this or that?"

Well, that prompted me to grow this thing into more than just the Facebook group. So, I prayed about it, and prayed about it some more, (and kept praying) and then I took the leap to pursue this passion: my passion of connecting community! (By the way, I'm still praying over this project daily, too!)

Today, I’m launching the new Appo Happo website. I’ve put together a calendar with events (…if you know of any events not listed, send me an email through the contact form on the site, or at appomattoxhappenings@gmail.com, or reach out on Appo Happo's Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter to keep me informed!)

Like I said, there’s not much to the site today. You’ll see a few blog posts and the event calendar. My goal is to reach out to (or hear from!) local business owners and talk about how we can promote your business to Appomattox locals through this site, through social media, and through email.

With Appomattox Happenings, I’m keeping advertising prices extremely affordable… because, small businesses generally have small advertising budgets, ya know?!

I’ve already worked with a few great local businesses and I’ll be posting their articles this week to give you an idea of what you can expect from Appo Happo. Today, you can read about Iceland’s, and I'll be posting about KC’s Pet and Farm Sitting, and Perry Painting later this week!

As I continue to work with local businesses, my plan is also to create a business resource catalog on the site as well. Need home repair? Look here. Need pet services? Look here! Need a gift item? Look here to find out what local shops offer in Appomattox, Virginia! That page is coming soon...

I hope you’ll enjoy learning about local businesses, churches, civic groups, and community events. Oh, and if you haven’t signed up to receive the emails I’ll be sending out, please sign up today on the main page of the site. (PS: Thanks to the 100+ people who signed up in the last two days even before I launched the site… Your support of this project is so encouraging!)

From humble beginnings…
